2018 TROY Series SA, round 4, The Woolshed Trial @ Mungeree

2018 TROY Series SA, round 4, The Woolshed Trial @ Mungeree

This weekend will see Team Hogan, along with the AJS MTC, run their annual Woolshed Trial at their awesome homestead of Mungeree, situated in the Southern Flinders Ranges, just off the Germain Gorge Road at Bangor.

Starting at 10.00am Saturday with a coaching practise day until 2.00pm, which will be followed from 3.00pm by a brand new event to trials here in SA, a World trial Championship style ‘Qualification Section’, where riders will be put up against the clock, as well as trying to keep their feet up. Sunday morning will see the main event kick off, with round 4 of the TROY Series SA 2018, the Woolshed Trial, which will follow the deep creeks and flowing hills of the Mungeree property, giving all a great venue to watch all the action!

This qualification style event is taking the WTC by storm, and is sure to be a highlight of Saturday, especially as it is being organised by SA’s own World Trial2 Championship rider, Connor Hogan, who will be in attendance, along with his WTC minder, current Australian Youth Champion, Haydon Ahrens, who are between WTC rounds at the moment – so now is the last chance to see SA’s best solo riders in action before they head off overseas for 6 weeks, only returning in time for the Australian Championships in Victoria in October! Also fronting up this weekend is SA’s other TdN rider (male) in Adrian Harry, so with Connor, Haydos & Adrian, you will get to see the cream of SA’s solo riders from the past 20 years go head to head, something that rarely happens due to Connor’s WTC commitments!

Also going head to head this weekend will be the current Australian #2 & #3 sidecar teams in action as they start to prepare for the 2018 Australian Championships in October, Chris Schultz & Stuart Gerhardy and Steve Rees & Melissa Rogers – PLUS – trials being as it is, it gives the junior riders the chance to compete directly against their senior competition, so look to riders like Alex Cowan, Haydon Barwick, Josh Rees, Patrick Hewitt and Lillie Yiatrou as they take on their more experienced peers!

Entry to ‘The Woolshed’ is free to all spectators, with catering available for lunch both days, as well as breakfast on Sunday from Tyler Hogan and her incredible catering crew – country cooking at its absolute best – so head out and follow the signs on the corner of Gorge Road & Survey Road, with the gate to Mungeree right next to the Southern end of the Bridle Track.

Camping spots are available, so throw the swag in and have a lazy couple of days wandering amongst the gums, creeks and rocks and watch riders from 4 to 74 tackle the sections set by Team Hogan!
