Motorcycling SA Elite Rider Will Price Race Report- Hattah 2018
Kessner KTM Off-Road Team rider Will Price powered through the 2018 Hattah Desert Race. Hattah took place on the 6 – 8 July where over 700 riders flocked to Victoria’s North West to race the gruelling event. At just his second senior Hattah Desert Race, Price raced in the U19’s class aboard his KTM 350 EXC-F. Prologue took place on Saturday where the youngster qualified 40th outright and 4th in class for the main race on Sunday.
‘This year Hattah was absolutely brutal! The track was super choppy and squared edged making racing interesting. With limited amounts of moisture around dust was a massive issue but the field spread out after the first lap. The race started off really well, I passed a few riders amongst the dust making my way through the field. Towards the end of the first lap I made a small mistake losing a handful of positions but fought hard to gain them back. I came in 39th outright after lap one after copping roost and dust all lap.’ Will Recalled.
After 4 hours and 58 minutes of racing Will Price crossed the finish line in 31st position outright and 4th in class. The young gun was the final rider to stay on the lead lap and pushed all the way to the end.
‘I would like to say a massive thanks to my team especially Roger and Scott for all the hard work they put in and also Dave Sheidow and Jamie Mullan for their assistance. It couldn’t be possible without the help from my parents and their amazing commitment to enable me to do what I love. Finally a massive thanks to my sponsors and everyone else who supports me.’
