Rider Chat - Jayden Rudd - AORC Round 1 Winner, J3
The opening rounds of the Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) were held last weekend and South Aussie Jayden Rudd delivered the best possible result to not only kick-start his national season, but also to prepare for this weekend’s opening round of the South Australian Off-Road Championship in Mount Crawford. We caught up with Jayden for quick chat to hear about his results and preview this weekend’s event.
Question – How did your preparation go leading in the first AORC round? Were you able to get much off-road riding in here in SA before the event?
Jayden Rudd – “I have been doing personal training sessions a couple of times a week for quite a while now – I think that is finally starting to pay off! I was able to get a couple of club days in and I rode the first round of the SA Motocross Championships in Port Lincoln a couple of weeks ago. When I get a chance, I do some riding on a private property near where I live as well as on our own track.”
Question – How did it feel when you knew you had won the National round?
Jayden Rudd – “It was an awesome feeling knowing I have the speed and fitness to be competitive against some of the best riders in Australia.”
Question – What sort of a confidence boost does it give you for the rest of the AORC season?
Jayden Rudd – “It’s given me a massive confidence boost going into the rest of the season and I’m keen to see what the rest of the year will be like.”
Question – How do you rate your chances in the first round of the SAORC this weekend?
Jayden Rudd – “I rate my chances reasonably high for this weekend in the Mount Crawford forest, but you never know what will happen during an event.”
Jayden will compete in the J3 class this weekend as part of the KTM South Australian Junior Off-Road Championship and will be one 233 riders to take to the Mount Crawford course across juniors and seniors this Sunday 30th April.
