With great support from Paul Arnott’s The Hell Team and Peter Goddard’s Oset Bikes Downunder, along with their SA Dealer in Greg Knight’s Rockhopping SA, 50 of SA’s and Victoria’s finest trials exponents will face the challenge of Barina’s rocky outcrops and gullies from 10.00am Saturday and 9.00am Sunday.
Adrian Harry will return to the SA Championships this weekend and due to the International calendar won’t have a stressful weekend, with Connor Hogan & Haydon Ahrens overseas, but as he always does, Adrian will give 100% effort and wow the crowds with his brilliant ability on a bike, and will be the rider to watch in Open Solo as he chases the SA#1 plate for 2018!
Highlight of the weekend however, could well be the battle between the established senior riders and the up and coming junior stars, as in trials it can, and will be a direct battle, and specifically in B Grade, C grade and Open Women. B grade will see juniors Alex Cowan, Joshua Rees and Haydon Barwick lock horns with the more experienced Tom Lancaster, brothers Derek & Joel Schroeder and Victorians Charles Anderton and Pat Sutton, with the MSA Elite Rider, Alex, fresh from a win over former Australian Champion, Brenton Hogan!
C Grade will pit 6 junior riders and 1 18 year old senior rider against each other, with Hayden Eardley, Cameron Gerhardy and Patrick Hewitt defending the blokes honour against current Australia #6 Open Woman, Jasmine Tarrant and the Australian #1, #2 & #3 ranked Junior Women, MSA Elite Rider Lillie Yiatrou, Alisha Harry and Victorian, Bridie Sutton, in what will be a battle of the future!
Jasmine, Lillie, Alisha & Bridie will also fight out the Open Women’s Championship, with this being the first time that 4 girls will fight out the Championship on the blue line!
There is still plenty of action to watch in the junior grades, with the Junior B Boys and the Junior B Girls Classes to crown a new Champion each in 2018, with all the entrants yet to be crowned Champion, with the Junior B Boys quite possibly being the closest fought class of the weekend, with little separating the quintet of Thomas Eardley, Harry Patterson, Oliver & Harry Lancaster and Isaac Schultz all season – it could be a nerve racking weekend for the parents, especially with so much talent being shown by all of the lads!
The Junior B Girls will be just as close with the returning Ashley Barwick and Hayley Stephen having a tough task this year keeping the rookie, Brooke Hewitt at bay at some events!
The A Grade Sidecar battle will be the usual one as the teams of Steve Rees & Melissa Rogers square off against Chris Schultz & Stuart Gerhardy once again, and with there a chance of being no official Australian Championship for sidecars again in 2018, this well could be the battle that resolves bragging rights for the next 12 months as to who is the unofficial Australian #1!
There will also be good battles in the old blokes class, Veterans, for the over 40s and the old bikes class, Historic White, as well as Junior A for Boys and Junior A for girls, Clubman and B Grade Sidecar, with the ‘Non-Comp’ classes also running, and the Mini Trial Class, for the Under 9’s who can ride in a non-competitive way as they learn the sport!
